The Drum Grid shows 16 cells on each of three available pages. A sound can be mapped to each cell. Cells correspond to MIDI note numbers, starting from C1 at the lower left, and running to the upper right.
The Kit name bar above the cells and the Controls bar below the cells are used to view group parameters, and to switch between cell pages.

Kit name bar: Shows the active kit name. Click the kit name to view group parameters in the Smart Controls panel. Click the disclosure triangle at the lower left of the Drum Grid if the Smart Controls panel isn’t visible.
Drum cells: Show the active kit piece name, icon, and Mute and Solo buttons (when you move the pointer over the cell). Click to play the sound assigned to each cell. Drag cells to reposition them. You can also replace cell sounds. See Use Drum Machine Designer.
Note: Clicking any cell updates the Smart Controls panel to display parameters specific to that sound. Click the disclosure triangle at the lower left of the Drum Grid if the Smart Controls panel is not visible.
Solo buttons: Click the Solo button for each cell that you want to hear in isolation. All other cells are muted, indicated by a flashing Mute button.
Mute buttons: Click the Mute button for each cell that you want to silence.
Controls bar: Shows up to four controls:
Disclosure triangle: Click to display or hide the Smart Controls panel.
Cell page arrows: Click to display the next or previous cell page. Three dots between the arrows indicate the currently visible page.
Controls button: Click to display Group Mix and Group Effects parameters in the Smart Controls panel.
Sends button: Click to display Group Delay and Group reverb parameters in the Smart Controls panel.
